Hindus believe that Lord Shiva blessed our Planet with Reiki.

It is believed that REIKI was brought to the Indian sub-continent by people from the Mu Civilisation. Though the Mu and Atlantic Civilisations vanished with time, REIKI continued to be practiced in India and Tibet. Gradually REIKI was lost here as well; only a handful of people passed it on from one generation to the next.

REIKI was practically lost altogether until it was Re-discovered by Dr. Mikaomi Usui in Japan towards the end ofthe nineteenth centuary.

HISTORY
Mikaomi Gyoho Usui (Commonly known as Mikao Usui ) was born on 15th August 1864 in a village called Yago, in the Yamagata district of Gifu in southern Japan. He had a doctorate in literature, spoke many languages, and had a deep interest in medicine theology and philosophy.

The western version of Mikao's story goes blike this:

He was a christian minister and the head of Doshisha University, in Kyoto. His students were constantly asking him about the methods of miracle healings by Lord Jesus. He had no clear answer. Finally he resigned from the University and went on a mission to find the truth. Finding Japan's Christian Authorities ignorant on this subject, he departed for U.S. where he found the same problem. He enrolled at the University of Chicago Divinity School and received a Doctorate in theology. It was probably here that he learnedto read sanskrit.

Usui then travelled to India and Tibet before returning to Japan, where he moved into a Zen monastery near Kyoto. He was given extensive access to the monastery's libraries by the Abbot. Starting with japanese texts and moving on to their chinese counterparts, Usui continued his quest for precise healing formulas until he stumbled upon some old Buddist texts in Sanskrit that finally seemed to hold what he was looking for. All he needed to know was to learn how to activate the power within him to energise the Symbols in the texts. This inspired him to to spend twenty one days at Mt. Kuramo Yama.

On the morning of 21st day of his meditation he saw a strong ball of light approaching him fro a distance. The light struck his Third eye and knocked him down. When he regained consciousness a few moments later , he found himself surrounded by contless bubbles in all the seven colours of Rainbow. At the end came, Golden bubbles with white light, and within the heart of each white light was a Golden Symbol in Sanskrit.

As Usuim gathered himself and focussed on each of the Symbols, one by one, he received instructions on how to use the Symbols he had discovered to activate the energy within him and to heal himself and others.
